What this page is for
Most of SYNOVA has no account and nothing to delete here — the six original training exercises store everything on your own device, and uninstalling the App erases them completely (see Privacy Policy §11.1). This page exists for the two optional features that do send data to our server: Curiosity Quest and Ranking.
If you still have the App installed, the fastest way to delete this data is inside the App: Profile → Ranking → "Leave ranking". It works immediately, whether or not you ever joined Ranking, and requires no email exchange. Use this page only if you no longer have the App installed, or prefer not to open it.
Why this page cannot delete your account instantly
SYNOVA's Curiosity Quest and Ranking have no email address, password or login of any kind — see Privacy Policy §3. That is deliberate: it means we hold almost nothing about you. It also means this page, viewed by anyone on the open web, has no way to safely verify that a given technical identifier or username belongs to you and not to someone trying to delete another player's account or leaderboard entry out of spite. An instant, unauthenticated "type a username, click delete" button would be exactly that vulnerability, so we do not offer one.
Instead, deletion from the web is handled as a request we act on by email, using whatever you can tell us to locate your data.
How to request deletion
Send an email to the address below. Include as much of the following as you can — none of it is required, but the more you include, the faster we can find and delete the right record:
- Your Ranking username, if you ever joined Ranking (Profile → Ranking shows it while the App is installed).
- The country you selected when joining Ranking, if you remember it.
- Roughly when you played Curiosity Quest or joined Ranking.
- The email address you are writing from, so we can confirm the deletion back to you.
What gets deleted: your Ranking profile and username, if you have one; every leaderboard entry tied to it; your entire Curiosity Quest round history (topics played, answers, scores); and the anonymous technical identifier itself. This is exactly what the in-App "Leave ranking" action deletes, and exactly what Privacy Policy §4 and §5 describe as being held on our server. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days, and will confirm by email once it is done. If we cannot find any data matching what you sent us — for example, because you never played Curiosity Quest — we will tell you that instead.
What this does not affect
This page, and the in-App "Leave ranking" action, only ever reach data held on our server. They cannot see or touch the six original exercises' training data, which lives only on your device and which we have never had a copy of. If you also want that gone, uninstall the App, or use "Reset local progress" from within it (Privacy Policy §11.1).
